My company is forcing all the staff to attend a corporate team building on 20-22 Jan 2011. As in the calender, 20/1 (Thursday) is a public holiday for Thaipusam. Is my company have the right to force all empoyee to attend without any replacement leave and also force to cut one day of our annual leave on the 21/1(Friday)? Kindly advice.
If you are sure Thaipusam is one of the appointed holidays for your company and you are also sure that they will force you to cut one day's leave without reasons, I suggest you contact the Labour Department. Make a complaint and let them investigate.
