Can unconfirmed staff claim sick leave? In the letter of appointment it states that only entitle to medical benefits after confirmation.

If that employee is covered by the Employment Act meaning his salary not more than 1500, he is entitled to sick leave even unconfirmed. If he is not covered then that clause in the appointment letter may be valid
