My friend working hours are between 10am-7pm Mon-Sat.

However twice a week for both Monday and Friday, Her Boss arranges for a meeting that starts from 4pm - 10pm sometimes 12pm.

No OT is paid, and non of the employees dare to say anything as they are afraid of being tagged as "Non Team Player"

Is there anything that can be done? Or is there a particular government body for this issue to be reported to as anonymous?

That is not something unusual in the private sectors. However, if you really feel very strongly about it and If you salary is below RM1500, you can refer the problem to the Labour Department and let them look into the matter.

Hi, may I know what are normally acceptable as reasons for lateness to work? And what about employee's request for a pay decrement if they are certain they cannot make it on time for, lets say 0.5-1 hour? However, the employee's productivity is still acceptable after being monitored during the lesser working hours duration.

SL, If he really has good reasons for wanting to come late, is it possible to change his working hours to start one hour late but finish work one hour later?

referring to jonathan lim message above about working mon to sat 10 to 7. That is 9 hours of work in a day. I have an employee claiming that is only 7 actual working hours and 1 hour break (total 8 hours per day) and not 8 actual working hours and 1 hour break( total 9 hours per day). Please advice so which should i follow. I've read your website about hours of work. My employee want to claim 1 hour OT everyday from Mon to Sat 6-7pm. despite the basic salary is already RM 1600 plus Rm 200 allowance.
