Backdated Appointment Letter

Hi!

My company has recently amended the appointment letters for all staff and are insisting that we sign them.  The problem is, instead of issuing new appointment letters, they are backdating them.  The amendments include reduction of benefits as compared to the original.

In such an event, is this backdating legal?  If so, are the staff under any legal obligation to sign these new papers?

Feedback will be much appreciated! Thanks!

Since the benefits are affected, I think you better bring the matter up with the Labour Department and let them look into the matter.
