Hi,

I am a contract executive whio is paid on daily rate. I get paid doubel for working on public holidays or rest days.

My employment contract states ' Company XXXX replacement day for public holiday is considered normal working day and not a public holiday'.

My question - does 7th and 28th of November (which were replacements for Sunday public holiday) fall under this category, ie., 'Company XXXX replacement day' or are they national holidays?

Regards,

Matt

A contract executive may not be covered by the Employment Act. As such you will have to seel clarification from your HR.

Siew,

Thank you for replying. Are you referrng to the 'contract' status or the 'executive' status when saying I may not be covered?  In any case, assuming I am covered by the Employment Act, what will the answer be? Is Monday considered a normal working day or is it a public holiday?  Will companies have to pay double for their staff that are asked to work on Monday?

Regards,

Mathew

You said you were "contract executive". If you are covered,  Section 60D of the Employment Act shall apply.
