Hi, I would like to ask. Does an employer have the right to force employees to take compulsory annual leave or unpaid leave for the coming festive season? Our workplace will be closed for a week for this coming CNY  and our annual leave calculated  monthly which only entitled me 2 paid leave a month. Closing the office for one whole week is like forcing the staff to go unpaid leave. In my case, the will deduct 3 days of my salary. Can we complaint or report to Jabatan Buruh about this? Thank you

Hye there. Me to facing the same situation. but my case is im non-confirmed staff and just joined the company for 2 months. They said the compulsory leave for CNY holiday is consider as my UNPAID LEAVE since im not a confirmed staff and has no ANNUAL LEAVE entitlement. Please reply really need to know coz i feel like it is unfair to force staff to take the compulsory leave and to be consider as UNPAID LEAVE.

Complain to the Labour Office if your salary was deducted for that when you got your salary.
