Termination in Contract with Penalthy

I need some help and advise, currently I am employed under 2 yrs contract term and I have tendered my resignation with 2 months notice from 22nd August.

Yet, as per my contract I need to pay in-lieu (monetary) for 1 month for the Hiring expenses.

There is no clause in the contract to mentioned employer can deduct my salary for the penalthy (1 month), but my employer want to deduct my pay during my notice period? Secondly, I wish to find out my last day office is 22nd Oct(calendar month) or 20th Oct (60 days)?

Hence, I would like to know if they have the right to do so under Labour Law.

Btw my salary is 8K due to contract term. Do I still protected or Offer Letter take precedence.

Last but not least after I signed the offer letter I did asked for the term amenment but no reply from hiring manager nor HR, can I still file complaint on this to Labour Office?

appreciate if someone can help to comment or share their experiences.

Since your salary is over 2K, you are not covered by the Employment Act and therefore the Labour Department will have no power to take up your case. You may have to consult a lawyer.
