Resignation and Final Salary

Hi there

I tendered my resignation with my former company on the 27 April 2015 and my last working day was on the 26 May 2015. The HR has issued me a letter of acceptance for my resignation with the following statement

- mutually agreed that my notice is 1 month from date of resignation letter and last working day is 26 May 2015
- deduction of 8 days unpaid leave taken
- deductions of statutory deductions (EPF & PCB)

and the following:

"Your salary and eight (8) days wages in lieu of unpaid leave will be credited in your bank account by the end of May 2015 and deductions of statutory are applicable"

However the salary was paid only on 1st June via cheque, and salary was paid till 26th May 2015.

My question,

1. is it standard for company to pay only till the last working day "26th May 2015" instead of paying till end of month?

2. Is it legal for the company to only pay till the last working day without first informing the employee that the final salary is till 26th May 2015?
