Hi,

Just want to ask, an employee applied for leave and it was rejected. After which the employee went ahead and did not come to work for 2 days. What could be the sanction for this?

Many thanks!

Hye there,

Basically, Industrial Court has decided that warning is the lightest punishment. As such, you have the lightest would be warning and the heaviest punishment would be termination where the Industrial Court perceived it as capital punishment.

In you situation, it is advisable to send a letter or by any means try to enquire the said employee whereabout first and give him one final date to report for duty. If he still fail to report for duty, then the Company can assume that the said employee is no longer have the intention to work with the Company and the Company may further claim from him/her the in lieu of notice payment.

Hope the above clarify your query.
