Leave before the notice period of resignation letter as request my employer

I am confirm staff currently working in small size firm(less than 20 employees). My salary is more than RM2000 but less RM5000

I have passed the resign letter to employer on 15 Feb 2015 and my last day of working wrote on resign letter is 15 April 2016.(2 months notice based on offer letter) . However, few day letter my employer told me that i can leave early don need to wait until notice period end as long as i have I finish my work on hand.(in verbally, no bad and white). My estimate last day of working would be 10 March 2016.

1) Should I get back the resign letter that i pass to him before(2 months notice) ? Will he sue me for leave early (ask me to paid him back 2 months salary) since i leave the company at 25 days after he received the resign letter?

2)How can I protect myself?

I think you better stick to your original resignation letter. You better have everything put down in black and white if the parties want to do it differently. Otherwise, there could be disputes.
