Employment and resignation

Dear KL Siew

Can we pay salary for employee that has not received employment letter yet and then they resigned without notice.  Example, employee worked for 3 months and resigned on 09.05.2016 without notice. I understand that if no employment letter, the employee can resigned within 24 hours. My concern is does the company need to pay the employee salary or not. Please advise.
