Missing in Action (MIA)

Can I get guidance on staff that is MIA without informing the Company?

After doing the summary of attendance (extract from attendance system), we found out that one of the staff has a high volume of not attending office of 43 days as at today. There is no any other previous action being taken due to previous poor HR management. 

Besides that, he has 111days working less than 8 hours. 

After I taking over HR, I only found out this case and needed to take action.

May I know whether the company can immediate termination without any payment in lieu? Because no warning letter is issued by the previous HR management.

I think you may have to start anew by taking proper action from now on. Your previous HR might have condoned what he had been doing.

Hi Siew,

As per the situation, the most recent MIA consecutive 2 days without informing company was at August 25 & 26.

May I know with this reason, will it be sufficient for company to issue immediate termination without payment in lieu for this staff?

Was he allowed to continue working after the two days MIA or he never came back to work after the two days?
