Training Contract and Resignation

I would like to find out if employee able to give notice within the contract period. 

Below are the conditions: to avoid any compensation and salary in lieu. 

 Employment requirement: to serve notice of 3 months for resignation. 

Attend an oversea training to complete a 12 months contract - no notice requirement  is stated 

in the contract. 

For example, contract period of 12 months start from 2nd July 2016 to 2nd July 2017 

My questions is : Can the employee resign with 3 months notice in March 2017 and leave after 2nd July 2017 ? 

The employee will then serve the 3 months notice for the standard employment and complete the 12 months contract.

Is this valid? Or  the employee can only tender resign letter after 2nd July 2017 and continue to work for 3 months and 

only leave the company on September 2017 ?

I don't know. It all depends on the terms and conditions stated in the contract. So, it is important that a comprehensive contract be drawn up. If you have problem with that, get a lawyer to do it for you.
