Staff Under Probation - Termination of Employment Service due to POP, Request for Compensation

Hello Mr Siew,

Good day to you.

One of the employee in our workplace, during his probation period, the company decided to terminated his employment service due to poor of performance. 

Our salary is paid mid of every month, so his get terminate 25th April 2017, after deduct his EPF, Socso and Unpaid Leave, we paid him the exact salary calculated by the payroll system. 

In this few days, he asked us to pay him the compensation, may I know the staff if under probation, but get terminated, and request for compensation, what should we do?

 He should be given at least one month notice or pay one month salary if no notice given in addition to his salary for April.
