need help...short notice deduction

I would like to seek for clarification, 

I applied unpaid leave on 23/7 and it has been approved. It was for 11/8 (Friday) and 12/8 (Saturday)

I worked from 1/8 - 10/8 (10 days) and I tender my resignation where my notice of 3 days is up to Sunday I thought as it was not mentioned 3 working days, it says 3 days. Now that employer deducted 3 days from my pay as they said i have to compensate for short notice.

Can employer deduct 3 days from my salary for short notice?

Is that the right procedure to deduct directly from employee's pay for short notice or employer should pay in full and file for claim?

You can personally go to the Labour Department and make a complaint there and let them look into the matter.
