Termination due to change of business ownership

Do we still need to give notice (as per contract) to employees for termination due to change of ownership? What if employee was offerred continuous employment with new business owner? I.e. We issue letter of notice with termination date on 30 Sept 2017, and before termination date, new Co offers new employment wef 1 Oct 2017.
