Malaysian Labour Law on Retrenchment

Hi, a large corporate had announced a merger and that it will lay off several thousands of staff. The company has equal amount of permanent and contract staff.

Are there any statement in the Malaysian Labour law that contract staff should be the one to go first rather than permanent ? Or does it depends on the role and functions within each department be it contract or permanent ?
