employement after retirement

Hi Admin,

An employee is attaining 60 years old. His leave entitlement is 16 days based on employment contract. Upon reaching 60 years old, company would like to employ the employee yearly based on contract and the leave entitlement is 8 days. The company practice is if an employee fail to take his 16 days leave before year end, his balance leave entitlement will be forfeited.

Qn: Employee reaching 60 in September 2018. Employment contact - 16 days leave. New contract in September (age 60) - leave is 8 days. What is the leave entitlement for the employment for year 2018?

1. For period from Jan to Sept 2018, the leave entitlement should be (16/12) x 9 months.

2. For new employment from Oct to Dec 2018, should be (8/12) 3 months.
