Extension Of Probation

Hi Siew,

We have a staff and had completed 6 months probation. All other staffs have yearly contract after probation but for this particular staff, due to his poor working attitude and attendance (averagely 2-5 days absent every month) could we give him a quarterly contract or extend his probation?

You should give him written warnings about his constant adbsence. For extension of probation it is up to the company to decide. If there is no improvement at all, don't renew the contract that's all and let him know about this.
