Resignation from Company

I have confirmed my resignation with my manager on 23th July but yet to receive release letter.

Please advise the next step in order to make sure I can be released from employment. 

I have to wait for 2 months notice. How does annual leave can off set for early release?

I have total 20days annual leave for this year 2018 and 2days carry forward from 2017.

Have you passed your resignation letter to the HR department? Go and check with your HR first.

Wong,

If you had given notice of resignation on 23rd July and have to give 2 months notice your official last day of work would be 22nd September 2018.

Annual leave for 2017 carried forward is 2 days.

Annual leave for 2018 prorated until 22nd Sep 2018 is 265 /365 x 20 days =14.52 days (15 days)

Total leave you can apply for is 2 + 15 = 17 days

You should apply for leave of 17 days which will make your last working day as 28th August.

Like KL Siew says please check and ensure that resignation letter has reached HR on 23rd July 2018.

Thank for your reply. I have sent email to HR and now just wait for the reply to know the status.

Don't do it by email, go to HR in person to find out the status of the resignation letter.

My HR in KL main branch, I am in Penang branch, can't meet the HR in person.

In that case, how do you know whether your manager had forwarded your resignation letter to HR, he could be keeping it in his drawer. Anyway, give a call to your HR in KL and you also need to discuss with them about your leave balance. Or resend a copy of your resignation letter by courier service.

that's the thing! I worry my manager may 'intentionally' forgot to forward to HR. Thanks for the advise! I will resend a copy of resignation letter to HR by courier service and call HR on Monday since HR is not working on weekend.
