When you are paid by the hours, I don't think there should be any problem. If you don't want to go for the one hour lunch break and prefer to work through lunch break and your employer allow that, you should be paid for it. If they don't want you to work during lunch break, you don't work that's all. The important thing is you get paid for the time you actually work. When break time or lunch time come, take a rest, don't work.
