Dear Sir,Would like to know how to refer years of service after promotion? For example for the case below:Hired on 1 Jan 2016 as ExecutivePromoted on 1 Jan 2019 as ManagerAL entitlement:1&2 years - 10 days (Exec)- 15 days (Manager)3-5 years - 15 days (Exec)- 20 days (Manager)After promotion, his 2019 AL entitlement is 20 days (based on his years of service of 3 yrs) or 15 days (based on his years of service as "manager" as 1st year)?

Leave entitlement generally follows Years of Service followed by level. In the scenario that you gave, the Executive who is promoted to Manager is in his/her 4th year of service so he will be entitled to 20 days as a Manager.

To better see this let's look at the chart below:-

Ist-year Exec - 10 days                                   1st-year Manager - 15 days

2nd-year Exec - 10 days                                  2nd-year Manager - 15 days

3rd-year Exec - 15 days                                  3rd-year manager - 20 days

4th-year Mgr (promoted) - 15 days                  4th-year Manager - 20 days

- if you give only 15 days to the promoted person then his entitlement is not par with other Managers. Can you see the illustration on why we follow years of service followed by level?

Hope this helps.
