Hello Sir,I am asking on behalf of the employer.Recently we called for a staff meeting at our HQ after working hours as per the norm. Two new staff who attended said meeting claimed that they should be compensated for mileage and overtime . Nothing of this sort is stated in their employment contract. My question is does labor law define them as being entitled to compensation ?Many thanks.

Consult you HR department. The company may have standing policy about such matter. However, if the staff are covered by the Employment Act, they should be entitled to overtime.
