Can an employer deduct the employee's salary for the time the employee is late? Eg. if the employee is one hour late, can the employer deduct one hour of his salary?
BTW, we are in Sarawak and the employee is paid a monthly salary.
I don't see any reason why employer should pay someone coming late for work besides taking disciplinary action against him.
So it should be alright to do deduct his salary since we cannot find any other better disciplinary action?
And at the moment we do not wish to terminate his services as he is in a middle of a project and the project is at it's crucial stage.
