Resignation - short notice & unpaid leave calculation

Dear Sir / Madam,

We have an employee, he has tendered his resignation on 20th Jan 2009. He wishes to work till 13th Feb 2009. He took 2 days unpaid leave on 4th Feb 2009 & 13th Feb 2009. Assuming his monthly salary is RM1750.

Please advise the amount deduction for short notice & 2 days unpaid leave.

So, short notice is from 13 to 19 Feb = 7 days, correct or not?

No pay leave on 4 Feb = 1 days

Balance of annual leave = 1 days (off set it with the 1 days no pay leave, OK?)

So you may deduct 7 days salary from his salary calculated up to 12 Feb. (You are the one only know how much salary due to him up to 12 Feb.) Will this be OK?

So, the deduction of the short notice should be calculated based on the total number of the particular month?

i.e. Basic pay devided by 28 days (Feb 2009) x 7 days of short notice.

1750 / 28 days x 7 days = RM437.50. am I right?

2) Please confirm again on Annual leave off-set with unpaid leave?

a) Balance annual leave (allowance) calculation will be based on ordinary rate of pay that is monthly basic salary/26 days = 1 day annual leave pay

b) unpaid leave (deduction) will be calculated based on the total number of particular month, i.e. monthly basic salary/28 days = 1 day unpaid leave.
