whether annual leave includes sat,pub holidays & sundays

if we submit resignation letter and have annual leave balance of 14 days does it includes sat,sundays & public holidays when we take the 14days off. Does it mean that if the last date of work-24.5.2010 so leave starts 11.5.2010

The Employment Act says an employee is entitled to take any balance of leave before termination takes place. If he were to apply for leave, I think he will not take leave on rest days or public holidays. Isn't it? The parties should have it sorted out properly. In some case, employees want to cut short the notice period by paying an indemnity to the company and he may use his leave balance to offset the notice period of short notice.

I tendered my resignation on 30th June 2010 and I have to give 1 month notice to the company. Thus, my last date should be 30th July 2010. My job is 5 days week. If my AL left is 20 days (some carry forward from year 2009) and by clearing my leave, 2nd July 2010 should be by last working day. However, my company insists that getting 30 days to off set the 20 days and I should work until 9th July. I felt this is totally unfair as normally I wont' take leave on weekend or PH. Pls advise.

Because I'm in a small firm, just my boss and I. She said, my pay is above 1500 and no longer entitled to employment act. Company have the right to off set my AL flat from 30 days and not the working day. If so, the company no need pay back 10 days leave for me, which is a huge amount.
