I am asked to work on public holiday, including Worker's Day, King's Birthday, National Day etc. Initially my boss promised to give me double pay, but then she said working on 1 day public holiday means I have extra 1 day off day instead of double pay. Or, work on 1day public holiday should be substituted by 2 day off day if my boss doesn't want to give me double pay?
In such case, if your salary is below RM1500, you may complain to the Labour Department. Working on compulsory public holidays like Worker's Day, King's Birthday, National Day, cannot be replaced. Other holidays may be replaced with one day only, not two days as you said.
My salary is above RM1500. If my boss still need me to work on compulsory public holiday, what is the appropriate wages that my boss should have given me?
You can ask him to pay you according to the EA, which is (salary/26) x 2 for working on each PH.
Don't really understand. Let say if my daily paid is 100, it should be extra 100 or extra 200?
