Resignation Acknoleged letter to customer

I have discuss with company i will resign and give 1 month notice and booth of us already agree about this perior of time, and the discuss environment is peaceful without any argument.
Then, the company has fax/email to all customer to inform about the sales person is resign and the future contact person is who.... and etc.
For i know the company has the right to doing that, but i have something about the content of letter is not really understanding?
My question is below:
1. I don't have any criminal case, and not have distribute company confidential information, but why in the letter them send to customer have include my IC number, i feel very bad after i notice about it from my customer, because the IC number is privacy and important, why them want to include my IC number in the letter, i want to know about the company have right to write my IC number inside the letter or not, then if the answer is not, what should i doing now, because i feel very bad and unhappy after the customer notice me about it.
2. Second thing is about my effective day, in the letter their write about my resignation is effective by 6 August 2010, but he still want me stay until the month end (25 August2010), it make me confuse about it, may i know it'nt means i can leave early, because the letter already notice i have been resign and effective on 6 august 2010?

It is not uncommon for companies to do that. Some even publish in newspapers that so and so has resigned and tell them this person has not right to represent the company in any dealing. Anyway, if it is a simple notification to the customers, it will not damage your reputation at all. Just stay on until your last day and then say good bye.
